In today’s fast-paced world, stress, office syndrome, and general well-being are increasingly at the forefront of people’s minds. Many of our clients have started requesting wellness elements at their meetings, conferences, and trade shows to help keep delegates energized and healthy throughout the event.
Incorporating Wellness Activities
One popular request we’ve seen is offering early-morning wellness sessions, such as yoga, before the start of the day’s agenda. This allows attendees to begin the day with movement, focus, and a sense of well-being before diving into business. For instance, in past events, we’ve offered optional yoga classes before the conference begins. It’s an activity that’s not only refreshing but also very much appreciated by participants.
Wellness in Incentive Trips
For one of our IT clients, we created a full wellness experience during their incentive trip. We offered a yoga session followed by a guided meditation, concluding with a healthy tea break featuring wholesome sandwiches and organic herbal teas. This unique wellness package was a hit, with all 120 spots filling up faster than a traditional city tour! Another wellness activity that’s always popular is massage—whether it’s foot massage, aromatherapy, or a full body treatment, these experiences are always highly sought after and quickly become a favorite amongst attendees.
Healthy Meals and Sustainability
Clients are also increasingly interested in incorporating healthy and sustainable meal options into their events. Whether it’s a gala dinner or coffee break, offering organic or wholesome meal choices adds value to the attendee experience. For instance, we’ve partnered with caterers to source fresh, organic produce from local Royal Projects, which not only provides healthy, high-quality ingredients but also supports local communities. Knowing where their food comes from—whether it’s sustainably harvested fish or organically grown vegetables—adds a sense of safety and responsibility that clients appreciate.
Wellness-Inspired Souvenirs
Another way to integrate wellness into events is through thoughtful, healthy souvenirs. One time, we worked with a client to offer beautifully packaged organic teas as a keepsake for attendees, and they loved it! A simple yet meaningful gift like a herbal compress ball can also leave a lasting impression, offering guests a way to relieve stress and relax long after the event ends.
These are just a few examples of how we, as event planners, can infuse wellness into business events. Each of us has access to unique elements from our respective locations that can enhance the well-being of attendees. Consider what stands out in your destination in terms of wellness, and offer it as an alternative to traditional event activities.
